Meet the Band Join the Band What's New? |
The Power Pep Band's musicians like to get out and perform. Over the years, we've captured the band in action. Share some of our fond memories of past gigs and performances by viewing the photo albums below as well as our separate video page.

Olympics Oregon, November 2003: The Round at Beaverton, October 2003: Once was fun, twice is better! Hop on MAX, drop by The Round, and hang with us as we play some music and play in the fountains. North Portland Community Health Clinic Benefit, September 2003: This nonprofit provides pediatric health care for kids who wouldn't get it otherwise. We raised the roof while a walk-a-thon raised some much-needed cash for the clinic. Uncle Otto's Oktoberfest, September 2003: Come out with us to Portland Brewing Company for food, music, and a little brew. We provide a break from the accordions! Glendoveer Trail Celebration, September 2003: Metro threw a little party to celebrate 25 years of the fitness trail at Glendoveer Golf Course. Click here for music in the woods, synchronized tromboning, and fierce woodland creatures. Animal House 25th Anniversary Celebration, August 2003: Filmed on location in Cottage Grove, the classic film Animal House celebrated its 25th year and the town celebrated with it. We opened for The Kingsmen (okay, we opened 6 hours before they played, but that's just a technicality, right?), then donned our Roman attire and partied late into the night. Toga! Toga! Toga! Clark County Fair: August 2003: Fair? Heck, it's more than fair it's great! Spend a little time with us in between the thrill rides and cotton candy. See you at the Comcast stage don't miss the fabulous triangle solo on Bohemian Rhapsody! Grand Opening of The Round at Beaverton: August 2003: We helped put the finishing touches on the long-awaited debut of this mixed commercial/residential development. Join us as we get up close and personal with Tri-Met's MAX line, cool down hot basses in a new way, and enjoy one heck of a picnic lunch from Elephant's Deli. Gladstone Chautauqua: August 2003: Gladstone's been holding this party for a lotta years and we were pleased to be part of it. Check out the great job our volunteer percussion line did at this show! Private Birthday Party (Dundee, Oregon): July 2003: Not everyone gets a parade and pep band performance as a birthday surprise! Rock out with us at a very special birthday party in the Wine Country. Give us a call -- we'd love to be part of your party too! Major Corporate Anniversary Celebration: July 2003: When Washington County's largest high tech employer throws a party, it stays thrown! We know of at least two ways to liven up a party hire the PPB or bring in the confetti cannons. Click here to see what happens when you do both! Yoshida's Sand in the City: July 2003: Great crowds and spiffy sand sculpture in "Portland's Living Room" (Pioneer Courthouse Square) make this a fun gig and it raises money for the Kids on the Block Awareness Program. Sheridan
Days, June 2003: How better
to celebrate Flag Day than with a red, white, and blue small town celebration?
video clips from the day, including Bob's encounter with the kamikaze
trombones. Regional Water Providers Consortium, June 2003: Hey, ya think water grows on trees? It's everyone's job to help conserve especially if you get to play down by the riverfront on a gorgeous Portland summer day during Rose Festival. San Antonio Fiesta, April 2003: Multitudes, margaritas, and mucho música there's not much to dislike about San Antonio during Fiesta! Join us for photos and a couple of video clips from three fun-filled performances at the famed River Walk, El Mercado (the largest Mexican Marketplace outside Mexico) and Splashtown San Antonio, where we performed out most authentic version ever of Floatin' Down the Old Green River. Festival of Trees, December 2002: The Festival of Trees is an annual fundraising event for Providence Portland Medical Foundation. Choirs, dance schools, and other entertainment performs through the 3 days of the Festival. We closed the Festival this year with a little PPB Christmas music -- and stuck around after the show closed to play some good ol' rock 'n' roll as volunteers cleaned up. Springwater Corridor Trail, November 2002: Greenspaces, parks, and trails are part of what make Portland such a great place to live. With Parks Director Charles Jordan, U.S. Congressman Earl Blumenauer, and other civic dignitaries we helped open a new segment of the Springwater Corridor Trail. The Pumpkin Patch, October 2002: Like other groups, we performed for the crowds at The Pumpkin Patch. But we have a strong suspicion that we were the first band to play while inside The Maize. Halloween 2002: When Halloween 2002 falls on a Power Pep Band rehearsal night, we have to treat that as a mandate. Yeah, we played a few tunes (including Michael Jackson's Thriller), but most of the evening went into a party. Click here for all the ghosties, ghoulies, long-leggedy beasties, and things that go bump in the night. Boise River Festival, June 2002: Every summer, Boise gears up with a festival that includes one of USA Today's 10 Best Parades in America. We went to play the parade with the Get A Life Marching Band and stuck around to play a pair of PPB gigs at Bitter Creek Ale House. Here's the gig at which one of our friends overheard the bartender exclaim "Dude! They're playing Offspring!!!" Scotty Graham Memorial X-TREME Competition, February 2002: On February 23, 2002 we headed for Mount Hood Ski Bowl to help support the Scotty Graham Memorial X-TREME Competition. Just a couple of hours standing out in the snow and making music with 20 of our closest friends. Ask Joe and Paul about the ride they had down the mountain! Click here for the photo saga. San Antonio Riverwalk, April 2001: The band's first trip to Texas at Fiesta time. Join us down on the Riverwalk! (Photos from the Get a Life Marching Band website) Portland State University, 1999: Wanna see the band "way back when?" Here's some of our oldest memories. |
